All stages involved in rental, from collection to delivery of the car, have been reviewed and updated to ensure an experience that is as “contactless” as possible and new safety systems are already in place.

Furthermore, thanks to the use of products with a high degree of disinfection of both bacteria and viruses, every single vehicle, after rental, is treated by specialised operators with certified products that comply with Ministry of Health guidelines.

For Trenitalia customers who choose car rental from Avis, Budget and Maggiore, there are many additional benefits:

• Free cancellation and changes: to offer greater flexibility, there will be no penalty charges in the event of cancellation or changes for all car rentals made before 28 February 2022. These cancellations and changes can be made via the respective Avis, Budget or Maggiore websites, apps or call centres at the numbers/addresses indicated during booking
• Hourly rentals: You can rent a car at the Avis, Budget and Maggiore offices at the train station even for just a few hours and enjoy all the benefits offered for rentals of longer duration. In this case, there is no special booking procedure: just set the desired pick-up and drop-off times in the booking boxes.
• Sustainable mobility and hourly rates: It is now possible to rent “green” vehicles, i.e., the latest generation hybrids or electric vehicles, from Milan Centrale and Rome Termini stations. This makes it even easier to get around in the city centre, thanks to exemptions granted to "ecological" vehicles allowing them to enter certain ZTL (restricted traffic zones) and paid parking areas. Furthermore, thanks to the introduction of hourly rates on “green” vehicles, Avis customers will be able to move about with ease, speed and safety, even for short hourly journeys.
• Delivery & Collection Service: if you would like a rental car to be delivered to your home instead of picking up the car at one of the rental agencies, you can make a reservation by contacting the nearest rental station. Likewise, you can arrange to pick up the car from another location other than the rental station. Delivery and/or collection must be agreed upon in advance with the rental office and is subject to availability and confirmation.

• Maggiore, Avis and Budget offers are valid for rentals in Italy that have been booked and carried out by 28 February 2022, and are not cumulative with other promotions. These offers are reserved for Trenitalia Frecce, Intercity, Intercity notte, Eurocity and Euronight passengers arriving at the main Italian railway stations. All car categories are included except the Prestige, Select and Sport Cars fleet. Car models are presented purely by way of example. Maggiore, Avis and Budget guarantee the category booked, not the model. Prices vary depending on the type of car, duration of the rental, date and place of rental.
• CartaFRECCIA points will allow you to request numerous rewards, but they shall not be considered qualifying points to reach Silver, Gold or Platinum status. In order to accumulate CartaFRECCIA points, when collecting the car you have booked, you will need to show your CartaFRECCIA card.
• Please note, it is possible to book the Delivery & Collection Service even at short notice: if you book by noon, AVIS, BUDGET or Maggiore can deliver the vehicle to the neighbouring areas surrounding the agency before the end of the day.
